Departure from Helsinki to Porvoo
Start your day with an early morning departure to the enchanting medieval town of Porvoo. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the picturesque Old Town, known for its charming cobblestone streets, vibrant wooden houses, and the iconic Porvoo Cathedral. Don’t miss the beautiful Vanha Porvoo with its beach huts, a favorite among photographers and visitors.
Travel to Strömfors Ironworks
Welcome to Strömfors Ironworks, one of Finland’s best-preserved ironworks communities, with roots dating back to the 17th century. Experience history come to life as you explore the unique atmosphere of this historic site.
White Water Rafting Trip
After visiting Strömfors Ironworks, embark on a thrilling white water rafting trip. You will drive through the Kuovinkallio mini-archipelago and paddle through the beautiful Kulta rapids area of the Kymijoki River. The rafting experience lasts about 3 hours, including safety instructions and equipment setup. The rafting portion on the river is approximately 2 hours, with four exhilarating rapids to navigate.
Lunch at Bed & Bistro, Strömfors
After your rafting adventure, enjoy lunch at Bed & Bistro, located in the idyllic village of Strömfors. The restaurant offers locally sourced foods and wild herbs, serving throughout the summer and by order during winter.
Transfer to Kotka
Upon arrival in the coastal city of Kotka, visit the Langinkoski Imperial Fishing Lodge, once a retreat for Russian royalty. After the lodge tour, proceed to the hotel.
Discover Maritime Centre Vellamo
Visit the Maritime Museum of Finland at the striking Maritime Centre Vellamo. Explore exhibitions showcasing Finland’s rich maritime heritage and naval history, including the Battle of Svensksund in 1789.
Proceed to Hamina
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Hamina, featuring its unique circular layout and the surrounding fortress along the Fortress Trail. Explore historical sites such as the Flag Tower, the lush Kesäpuisto, and the intriguing Galleria Ruutikellar. The tour culminates with a visit to Hamina Fortress, providing insight into the town’s history.

Return to Kotka for Leisure
Spend the rest of the day at your leisure in Kotka, enjoying the local attractions.
Kotka Park Tour
Start your morning with a tour of Kotka, known as Finland’s “City of Parks.” The park tour spans 8.1 kilometers and includes highlights like Sapokka Water Garden with its 20-meter waterfall and Katariina Seaside Park with a massive picnic table and meditation labyrinth. You will also see naval fortifications, the Herb Garden, and the oldest intact building in Kotka, the Orthodox Church.
Transfer to Helsinki via Loviisa
On your way back to Helsinki, visit the historic Malmgård Manor, a magnificent 17th-century estate hosted by its owner, Count Henrik Creutz. After touring the manor, stop by the brewery to sample and purchase locally crafted products, with an optional beer tasting available at an additional cost. Enjoy a light lunch featuring Malmgård carrot soup with bread, followed by cake and coffee for dessert. A small salad made from Malmgård’s organic cereals will also be served.
Return to Helsinki
Conclude your adventure with a scenic drive back to Helsinki, filled with cherished memories of Finland’s beautiful east coast.
